Diary(100912)

These two days I was busy at preparing the preliminary work of the MBA tour. From what kind of clothes should I wear, to what questions should I ask to the representatives, everything was a hard work.

Besides that, On Saturday I had to work and translated the massive and tedious articles written by Businessweek’s journalist, which is about Foxconn’s president Mr. Gou. Now I want to sincerely thank to Mr. Shaw, who covered most of my works on Saturday. Thanks Shaw! I will definitely buy you a drink!

There was not many special things happened in MBA tour. To get a famous school’s offer, a great GMAT score is always essential.

The interesting part of the MBA tour was “how alumni of each school think about their MBA program.” For example, An UNC alumni said 90% of their students get “G”, which means Good, at their courses. He said unless you chase for a “Very Good” score, students do not have to study very hard at each courses and can still get a G.

Although you do not have to work very hard on each course, the alumni said he had to take 20 credits a semester. 20 credits is horrible. Peng said usually a graduate student only take 7 credits in a semester. I guess that is a critical part of UNC’s MBA program.

There were many chances to talk to other alumni. I chat with Minnesota U’s alumni about Minnesota Twins (baseball team), and from UCLA’s alumni, I realized that after finish the MBA program, graduates usually can be confident to apply any kinds of job. Because MBA program taught them how to use the strategy to figure out a problem, and at the same time, gave them the skills to convince other people through negotiating and lead the team to achieve success.

On Sunday I also went to play baseball in the afternoon, and even slam a two-based hit. It is really great to sweat through exercising.

That’s it. Next time I should start to type the diary earlier, otherwise I may have to stay up late everyday…
